Don't pass judgment on Trump: Labor

Australians shouldn't be passing judgment on US presidential hopeful Donald Trump, Labor's foreign affairs spokeswoman Tanya Plibersek warns.

Her comments came as the annual Lowy Institute Poll found almost half of us believe Australia should distance itself from the US under a Trump presidency.

"The result will be what it will be and we'll be able to work with him," Ms Plibersek told the National Press Club on Tuesday.
