Laurie Daley has rebuffed suggestions his NSW team are on the verge of establishing their own State of Origin dynasty against a teetering Queensland.
The coach was desperate to hose down hype on Thursday in the wake of the Blues' record-breaking 28-4 Origin 1 victory over the Maroons on their home turf at Suncorp Stadium.
An Andrew Fifita-inspired Blues outfit showed no mercy to a Queensland side missing more than 100 Origin games' worth of experience without cornerstones Jonathan Thurston, Billy Slater, Matt Scott, Corey Parker and Greg Inglis.
Asked if the win signalled the end of the Maroons' dominance and the dawn of a new era, Daley said: "Not really. We've won one game. You've got to keep your feet on the ground.
"I'll be disappointed if we got carried away with one game.

"There'll be a lot written and said over the next three weeks, and if our guys start to believe everything that's written and said, we're in trouble."
The fifth-year Blues mentor denied the Maroons' stranglehold on the interstate shield - they've claimed 10 of the past 11 series - was loosening.
Like they were in game one, Daley's men have been installed as favourites to clinch the series when it resumes at ANZ Stadium on June 21.
However former Blues skipper Daley was adamant Queensland would present a far more challenging opposition with the likely return of champion pair Thurston and Slater.
Champion five-eighth Thurston is hoping to return from injury in North Queensland's NRL clash against Parramatta on June 10.
Calls for Slater's Origin comeback will also gain momentum after NSW No.1 James Tedesco outplayed Queensland's Test fullback Darius Boyd.
"I don't think they're vulnerable. I think we just got them on an off-night, had a bit of luck, (and) no Johnathan Thurston. He makes a big difference to their team," said Daley.
"When you're running out with Thurston, (Cooper) Cronk and (Cameron) Smith in your team, it's comforting to know.
"If they bring back Billy and they bring back JT, there's two future Immortals."
Daley also declined to comment on what appeared to be an eye gouge from Maroons forward Nate Myles on Jarryd Hayne that went unpunished by the match review committee.
"I didn't see it to be honest with you. I've got no idea. Did (Jarryd) make a complaint? Honestly, I didn't see it," Daley said.
