Catalans Dragons have suffered a major blow with centre Krisnan Inu ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The former New Zealand international, who joined the French Super League club from rugby union last year, suffered ruptured ligaments in his right knee during the Dragons' 42-32 win over Salford last Saturday and will undergo surgery over the coming days.

"I'm really disappointed for Krisnan, who never stopped improving since he has joined the club," said Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous

"We lose a quality player for the rest of the season.

"He was playing at his best level since the start of the season but I know he is a strong player mentally and will come back stronger."
