Driver swims after car ends up in Yarra

A driver was forced to swim from her car after it crashed into the Yarra River in Melbourne.

A driver had to swim from her car after it crashed into Melbourne's Yarra River overnight.

The 33-year-old woman managed to get out of her car and swim to the bank after her vehicle went through a road barrier and crashed into the Yarra River at Burnley about 12.30am on Saturday.

No one else was in the car and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as authorities recover the car later on Saturday.
