An Australian man has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug and possessing equipment after allegedly importing pseudoephedrine via board games.

A man who allegedly imported two kilograms of pseudoephedrine into Sydney hidden in board games has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug and possessing equipment.

A 52-year-old Australian resident was arrested in Grange in South Australia on June 22 where officers also found drug paraphernalia and chemicals normally used for drug processing, the Australian Border Force said in a statement on Sunday.

The parcel of drugs was detected in the international mail at the Sydney Gateway Facility on June 14 and referred to Australian Border Force in SA for further investigation.

The accused is expected to appear in court on October 24.
