St George Illawarra fullback Josh Dugan has received good news on his injured hamstring, with scans revealing he's set to miss only two matches.

Dugan twinged his hamstring chasing a grubber kick midway through the second half of their 28-6 NRL win over Wests Tigers on Sunday and immediately left the field.

Dragons coach Paul McGregor conceded he'd be without Dugan for Saturday's clash against Manly and following further assessment on Monday, the 26-year-old is hopeful of missing just one more match after that.

"Scans came back better then expected, hoping to only miss a couple of weeks," he tweeted.

Dugan will be aiming to return to the field on Anzac Day against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The versatile Kurt Mann, who was impressive deputising for the injured Euan Aitken at centre against the Tigers, looms as a potential replacement for Dugan against the Sea Eagles.
