Duke of York to touch down in Australia

The Duke of York will spend more than a week touring universities, hospitals and official functions in NSW Wales, Queensland and Victoria from next week.

The Duke of York will embark on a whirlwind tour of Australia's eastern states later this month.

Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, will touch down in Melbourne for a dinner at Government House on September 18.

His tour will see him visit universities and official functions in Queensland's Gold Coast, then Wollongong and Sydney in the intervening days.

The prince will depart for the Middle East on September 29.
