A court statement said the Child Protection Council of Utrecht, in the central Netherlands, made the request at a sitting of the Middelburg district court to review Laura Dekker's state of readiness for the two-year trip.
Judgment is scheduled to be rendered next week.

Council spokesman Richard Bakker says the request was made out of fear for the girl's social and emotional development.
In May Australia's Jessica Watson became the youngest person at 16 to sail around the world non-stop, solo and unassisted.
But in June a US teenager on a similar mission was plucked from her stricken yacht in the Indian Ocean.
