Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade says he is "gobsmacked" by the deliberate rushed behind ruling after the Suns' 67-point loss to Adelaide.
The Crows demolished the Suns 23.15 (153) to 13.8 (86) but it was a bizarre free kick on the stroke of quarter-time that had tongues wagging.
"I thought when Kade (Kolodjashnij) first got the ball he was not under pressure and couldn't push it through," Eade said.
"Then he slipped, the ball fell out of his hand and a opposition player was within half a metre. I was gobsmacked when it was a free kick."
The comical display had the Suns defender falling over in his own goal square as the Crows swooped in.
Kolodjashnij rushed the ball through for a behind, giving away a free kick.
The ruling says that if players had clear prior opportunity to get rid of the ball before going through the goal line, they will be penalised.
There were issues with clarity of the rule earlier this month when Sydney took on Western Bulldogs. At the time Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge also questioned the ruling, but Adelaide coach Don Pyke says it is just a case of teething problems.
"I think the players are adapting to the rule and the longer it's in play the less contentious the rulings will be," he said.
"I'm sure it will pretty much become clear as to what's rushed and what's not."
The win took Adelaide to their first-ever 5-0 start to a season.
