West Coast's horror run of knee injuries has continued after the Eagles confirmed utility Simon Tunbridge would require a full knee reconstruction following a training mishap.

Tunbridge will miss the entire 2017 AFL season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a drill on Monday.

The Eagles said Tunbridge fell awkwardly while changing direction.

Tunbridge joins star ruckman Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett on the sidelines.

Naitanui isn't due back until round 15 at the earliest after tearing his ACL late last season.

And Lycett might not return until mid-season after undergoing a PCL reconstruction.

Tunbridge has played 10 games for the Eagles over four years, with his progress halted by a series of ankle injuries.
