Eagles' AFL forwards all fit - at last

West Coast spearhead Josh Kennedy will play his first game since round 18 when he lines up in Saturday night's qualifying final against Collingwood in Perth.

It's taken more than six months, but West Coast will finally unleash their first-choice attack in Saturday night's qualifying final against Collingwood.

Injuries have struck the Eagles' forward line all year, but the return of Josh Kennedy from a fractured shin means the club's best six attacking options will all be on deck for the start of the AFL finals.

Kennedy will join Jack Darling, Mark LeCras, Willie Rioli, Liam Ryan, and Jamie Cripps in a formidable attacking outfit.

The partnership of Kennedy and Darling looms as particularly dangerous.

West Coast are a perfect 10-0 when the duo have played together this year.

Kennedy, who missed the entire pre-season with foot and knee issues before being sidelined twice during the season proper with separate hairline fractures in his right leg, has booted 34 goals from 11 games.

Darling, who was in All-Australian reckoning before injuring an ankle, booted 42 goals in 18 games.

Goalsneaks Rioli and Ryan have enjoyed strong debut seasons, with the duo's pace a headache for opposition defences.

Ryan has only played 10 games this year because of a serious ankle injury and then a club-imposed suspension.

But the 21-year-old has returned to form at the right time of the year, booting eight goals in his past four matches.

Cripps (33 goals) is just one goal short of equalling his best ever season, while LeCras (29 goals) has defied the critics who were calling on him to retire last year.

All three of West Coast's finals debutants are members of the front half - Rioli, Ryan, and 19-year-old Daniel Venables.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson said it was important for the club's leaders to show the way.

"We've been pretty happy with the kids coming through, but it's another level this weekend.

"So I think more than anything we're going to need our leaders."

Simpson dropped defender Will Schofield and swingman Oscar Allen to make way for Kennedy and Lewis Jetta (calf).

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has rolled the dice by selecting Jeremy Howe (thigh), Adam Treloar (hamstrings), and Tyson Goldsack (knee) to come back from injury.

The return of Howe and Goldsack in what has been an injury-hit defence is vital in Collingwood's bid to curb the influence of Kennedy and Darling.
