West Coast captain Shannon Hurn will miss Sunday's AFL clash with Sydney after scans showed he has suffered a slight hamstring strain.
Hurn sat out the final quarter of last week's 61-point win over the Western Bulldogs after one of his hamstrings tightened up.
Subsequent scans revealed a low-grade strain, but the Eagles are hopeful Hurn will only miss one match.
"On doctor's advice we're going to take the week off, get him right and have him available post-bye," said Eagles general manager of football Craig Vozzo.
West Coast have a bye after taking on the Swans, meaning the defender will have had almost three weeks to recover from the injury before returning for the June 20 home clash with Essendon.
Hurn, who won his maiden All-Australian jumper last year, has been in stunning form this year, helping West Coast build an 8-3 record.
The 31-year-old's injury could open the door for Jackson Nelson or Josh Rotham to return to the side.
West Coast ruckman Tom Hickey, who has missed two matches with an ankle injury, is a chance to return against the Swans.
Ruckman Nic Naitanui (knee) is on track to return after the bye, while Tom Barrass (foot) is listed as being three to four weeks away.
