Treasurer Scott Morrison says the government won't be heading to an early election.

Mr Morrison told Bloomberg TV on Thursday the government had much work to do in reducing personal and business tax and improving productivity to boost the economy and foster a "better level of sentiment".

"The prime minister has said the government will go full term and that is what we will be doing," Mr Morrison said.
