Early voting popular in by-elections

Two days of early voting have seen 5127 ballots cast in federal by-elections being held across WA, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia.

More than 5000 people have already cast ballots in early voting in five federal by-elections.

Australian Electoral Commission data shows 5127 votes were cast on Tuesday and Wednesday - the first two days of early voting - ahead of the July 28 "Super Saturday" of by-elections.

The Queensland seat of Longman and South Australia's Mayo were the most popular for early voting at pre-poll centres.
