Six people have been killed on Australian roads in a horror start to the Easter long weekend.
Two truck drivers died when their B-doubles collided, one bursting into flames, at Miranda in South Australia's mid-north shortly after 1am on Good Friday.
A 31-year-old man from the Port Augusta area and a 35-year-old Campbelltown man died at the scene.
Police say one of the trucks veered on to the wrong side of the road, causing the crash.
Across in Victoria, a 19-year-old died when he was thrown from the back of a ute at Frankston about 2.30am on Friday.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died, while the driver and other passengers were not injured and are cooperating with police.
Another man died when the car he was a passenger in crashed at Armstrong about 6.30am.
A woman and teenage girl also in the car were flown to Melbourne with serious injuries.
And in Queensland an man and woman have been killed in separate crashes.
A 28-year-old NSW woman died when the car she was a passenger in rolled at the Gold Coast and a 26-year-old man died when his motorbike crashed at Bulimba.
Authorities across the country have pleaded with motorists to take care over the long weekend.
