Eddie Jones has turned to drone technology as his England rugby squad gears towards a momentous Twickenham showdown with the Wallabies.

A Spider drone was seen hovering 100ft in the air over England's Surrey training base on Tuesday afternoon and coach Jones later raved about its benefits.

England face Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday then take on Australia a week later.

That clash looms as a huge occasion as the Wallabies seek some revenge for their 3-0 series drubbing at home by ex-Australia coach Jones' England in June.

And it will be even bigger if Michael Cheika's Wallabies can overcome Ireland in Dublin this weekend and have the chance to complete Australia's first grand slam of victories over the four home nations in 32 years.

Among the focuses for the drone was a live scrummaging session overseen by assistant coach Neal Hatley.

"The drone's fantastic for us. It's another piece of technology that just helps us accelerate the program," Jones said.

"It allows us to have another piece of vision that sees how well we work off the ball and in rugby work off the ball is just so important."
