Eels delay call on injured Scott's future

Parramatta say they will wait until Beau Scott is well into his rehabilitation from knee surgery before making a decision on his NRL future.

Parramatta are leaving Beau Scott's future in the veteran's hands as he recovers from knee surgery.

Scott went under the knife on Wednesday after suffering a season-ending ACL tear against the Warriors last month.

It is feared the decorated career of the Eels co-captain is over with the off-contract 34-year-old facing an uphill battle to play again.

Eels coach Brad Arthur said the club would wait until Scott gets deep into the rehabilitation process and whether the former Australian and NSW representative wants to play on.

"I'm not sure what Beauie wants to do," Arthur said.

"He just had his operation on Wednesday so he's still in a fair bit of pain.

"Speaking to him yesterday, he just wants to get through rehab and he'll make decision when he's ready."

Scott played 244 games with Cronulla, St George Illawarra, Newcastle and Parramatta including the Dragons' 2010 grand final win.

He also earned three Test caps and represented NSW on 11 occasions.

On the eve of his 800th premiership game, master coach Wayne Bennett last week named Scott, whom he worked with at the Dragons and Knights, as one of his 17 favourite players.
