Eels' Norman credits Foran for hot form

Parramatta five-eighth Corey Norman says playing alongside Kiwi international Kieran Foran has been the key to his stellar form this season.

He's the money man for the club, and now for his teammates too.

Kieran Foran's arrival has been the catalyst for Parramatta five-eighth Corey Norman to find the most consistent form of his NRL career.

Now it could result in a massive pay day as Norman negotiates a new contract.

The former Bronco has been sublime for the Eels this year, having been crowned the best player in the Auckland Nines and key to their past two wins.

And a large reason for that is linking with the Kiwi international who is now his skipper.

"Foz takes a bit of pressure off me and I'm just worried about my own game a bit more. That helps," he said.

The 25-year-old says he struggled to find his best form over his first two years at the club alongside Chris Sandow and Luke Kelly.

"With two different halves in there, it's different. You can't get a good combination going," he said.

"(Now) I'm enjoying it."

Norman is off contract at the end of the year but wants to remain an Eel, even though the club is being investigated for possible salary-cap breaches.

"My manager and the club are talking so I'll let them do that and I'll play footy," he said.

"When the time comes, I'll make my decision."

He missed selection for Queensland's emerging squad earlier this year, but his form is sure to catch the eye of Maroons coach Kevin Walters.

Norman is trying not to think about a possible Origin jumper.

"If it comes about, it comes about - but it's definitely not something I'm thinking about.

"I need to worry about me at the Eels and how we're going here."
