Five Parramatta officials are again under NRL suspension after the NSW Supreme Court lifted an injunction order, but the group can still work on the club's response to its salary cap breach notice.
Eels chairman Steve Sharp, chief executive John Boulous, head of football Daniel Anderson, deputy chairman Tom Issa and director Peter Serrao will be limited to basic "fiduciary and statutory obligations" at the club.
The NRL initially suspended the quintet's registrations on Tuesday, before the five men successfully sought an injunction hours later.
The court's decision on Monday reinstated the suspensions.
It is now up to Parramatta how the five officials continue in their roles at the club as they prepare their defence of breach notices handed down by the NRL.
It is possible the five could still be stood down by the club, leaving directors Geoff Gerard, Tanya Gadiel, Andrew Cordwell and Paul Garrard in charge.
The club can appoint an interim CEO if it chooses to.
The NRL's lawyer Lachlan Gyles said it agreed "not to direct them (the five officials) in the discharge of their duties".
The club's response to the breach notice is due with the NRL on June 3.
A final decision from the NRL is expected around two weeks after that.
Facing loss of the 12 competition points they have earned to date, the Eels are hopeful of shaving the $570,000 required to get under the salary cap in order to retain any competition points they earn starting from their next match against South Sydney on Friday.
However, if the NRL's final determination finds that the five officials overstepped their duties while they are suspended, the Eels could lose any premiership points they earn over the next six weeks.
The matter is listed to return to court on May 31 if the five officials decide to continue legal action against their suspensions.
