Eels' Peats injures arm in Cowboys upset

Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats immediately left the field after suffering a possible broken arm against North Queensland on Saturday night.

Luckless Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats could be on the sidelines for a lengthy period after suffering a possible broken forearm in his side's 20-16 NRL upset of North Queensland.

Peats immediately left the field midway through the second half of Saturday night's match after his arm hit the knee of a rampaging Jason Taumalolo.

Eels coach Brad Arthur played down the injury post-game.

"I think he's okay. He sprained his elbow or something," he said.

The 25-year-old was playing just his second game in his comeback since being told by one doctor that he wouldn't play again after breaking his neck in a match against the Sydney Roosters last August.

Arthur has a number of options to replace Peats for next week's match again Canterbury, including bench hooker Kaysa Pritchard, the experienced Isaac De Gois, and former Cowboys rake Cameron King.

Parramatta could also be without second-rower Manu Ma'u for the Bulldogs clash after being put on report for a crusher tackle on Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt midway through the second half.
