Parramatta rake Nathan Peats could be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a dislocated elbow in the Eels' upset 20-16 NRL win over North Queensland on Saturday night.

Peats left the field in the 67th minute at Pirtek Stadium after an attempted tackle on Jason Taumalolo.

The former South Sydney hooker only recovered from a neck injury earlier this year.

Eels medical staff confirmed the injury, as did Peats on Twitter.

"Thanks for all the tweets. Dislocated elbow was the injury. Was painful until it got popped back in. I should be OK, could have been worse," Peats wrote.

Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah suffered a similar injury in 2014 and was expected to spend six weeks on the sidelines but returned after missing three matches.
