Parramatta's signing spree has entered a fourth week, announcing a NRL contract extension for centre Brad Takairangi.

Despite Takairangi being contracted for next season, the Eels moved on Tuesday to tie down the 27-year-old until the end of the 2019 campaign.

"Brad is a leader and key member of our squad and he has been one of our most-consistent performers since joining us in 2015," Eels coach Brad Arthur said.

"It was a priority for us to secure Brad for the next few seasons and it is pleasing to see he has committed to the club for the long term."

Takairangi's re-signing comes on the back of the recruitment in the past week of South Sydney powerhouse Nathan Brown and Penrith flyer George Jennings.

At least eight players have re-signed or signed with the Eels over the past month, including Corey Norman, Kenny Edwards, Danny Wicks, Isaac De Gois and Siosaia Vave.

The club are still in the hunt for an established playmaker to partner Norman in 2017, however have pencilled in Clinton Gutherson after a handful of impressive outings late in the year.

Gutherson, Tim Mannah, Tepai Moeroa, Peni Terepo and this year's Ken Thornett medallist Manu Ma'u all come off contract at the end of next season.
