Parramatta have kept their silence amid confirmation of a deduction of competition points, a $1 million fine and the banning of five key officials for NRL salary cap breaches.
The morning after one of the club's bravest wins of the season with a come-from-behind victory over the Sydney Roosters, Parramatta's year has been killed off by the NRL for cheating on the salary cap.
In a brief media statement, the Eels acknowledged the NRL penalties for breaches dating back to the 2013 season but said they weren't in a position to comment on the governing body's findings.
"The club will review carefully all documents provided by the NRL in the coming days before issuing any public response," the statement read.
Parramatta have been docked 12 competition points, sending the one-time NRL powerhouse club towards the bottom of the competition table and all but out of finals' contention for 2016.

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said the five deregistered officials and the Parramatta club had one more avenue to challenge Saturday's decision.
"There is a final appeals process in the NRL rules if they determine to do that and that's the only decision they can make," Greenberg said.
But Greenberg has flagged the possibility for a NSW government department to further investigate the methods Parramatta used to break the salary cap's rules.
"There are a number of other agencies looking into the Eels, including the (Office) of Liquor and Gaming (NSW)," he said.
"I would expect those agencies will complete their work in the coming months."
