Egypt's Ultras unite protestors

Among those opposing Egypt's new military led government are thousands of football fans. Since 2011, the fans have joined other protesters in taking to the streets. Their pro-Morsi organisers now live in fear of arrest.

Egypt's football fan clubs, full of limitless energy and a nationwide organisation of devoted fans, became politicised during the revolution and helped bring down the Mubarak government.

Now those fan clubs have put sport rivalries behind them and united to protest the military takeover that has put democratically elected President Morsi in jail.

Egypt's football clubs have often fought each other, sometimes with deadly results.

This group who call themselves 'The Ultras' have burried old rivalries between the clubs. It says it has united 3,000 fans from all teams.

Some Ultras admit they are members of the Muslim Brotherhood, President Morsi's political power base, but most say they are opposed to the coup.
