Eight people have managed to escape a fire which engulfed a western Sydney home overnight.
Emergency services were called to the home in Auburn at just before 1am (AEDT) on Monday following reports that a house was alight.
Eight people who were inside the home managed to run outside before the fire took hold, police say.
They were not injured.
Fire and Rescue NSW have extinguished the blaze but the house is extensively damaged.

A crime scene has been established while police investigate the cause of the fire.
