Veteran Australian Steve Elkington has missed his chance to win the US PGA Championship in windy Wisconsin.

After grabbing a share of the lead, Elkington bogeyed his last two holes to fall two shots behind American Bubba Watson.

Fellow American Dustin Johnson grabbed the outright lead.

Johnson is 12 under par for the tournament playing the last hole, one stroke clear of countryman Bubba Watson and German Martin Kaymer, who are safely back in the clubhouse.
