Destanee Aiava and Ajla Tomljanovic have been awarded wildcards to join Queensland pair Ashleigh Barty and Samantha Stosur in the Brisbane International main draw.

The 17-year-old Aiva scored her maiden WTA victory at the Brisbane event this year before rising to 154 in the world at season's end.

Likewise, Croatian-turned-Queenslander Tomljanovic moved from 930 to 118 in a successful comeback from a shoulder injury that kept her off the tour for more than a year.

"I'd love to get into the top 100 by March 2018 and getting off to a good start in Brisbane will help me achieve that," the 24-year-old said.

"But the main goal is to stay healthy. I'm feeling good right now and hopefully that continues."

Tomljanovic spent time hitting with boyfriend Nick Kyrgios at the Queensland Tennis Centre this week.

Kyrgios is set to feature in the men's draw alongside world No.1 Rafael Nadal.

The announcement follows the addition of Australian pair Matt Ebden and Jordan Thompson as wildcards in the men's draw.

It means the out-of-favour Bernard Tomic will have to battle for a spot at his home event in the 16-man qualifying draw, which begins on December 31.
