British actress and vocal feminist Emma Watson has sent grammar sticklers into social media meltdown after she was pictured at an Oscars party sporting a temporaryTime's Up tattoo.

The women's activist, known best for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, revealed the new addition on her right arm paying tribute to the movement - which is helping to fight sexual harassment in the workplace.

But the tattoo, which was temporary, caused a stir on social media after users spotted a grammatical error - the Time's Up phrase was missing the apostrophe.

One social media user pointed out the tattoo may have been referencing the Time's Up hashtag that appears without an apostrophe.
Watson acknowledged the mistake in a tweet.
The British actor has been a strong supporter of the movement since its initiation and took part in the "blackout" protest at the Golden Globes in January.

Watson also brought Imkaan executive director Marai Larasi, who heads up the black feminist organisation in the UK, as her guest to the awards show.

Time's Up was initiated as a legal defence fund for women who have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace following the social media movement, #MeToo.
