End prayers in parliament, say Greens

The Australian Greens want to put an end to the recitation of the Lord's Prayer in the federal parliament, describing it as an anachronism.

The Australian Greens want to put an end to the recitation of the Lord's Prayer in the federal parliament, describing it as an anachronism.

As debate continues over how religion should be taught in Australians schools, the Acting Greens leader Richard Di Natale says prayers of any description have no place in the parliament.

Senator Di Natale told Greg Dyett the recitation of the prayer at the start of each sitting day undermines the separation between church and state.
