Erin Phillips strong in basketball return

AFLW star Erin Phillips has produced a team-high four assists and six points in a WNBA practice match in her basketball return.

Her shooting radar was well off but AFLW best and fairest Erin Phillips has performed strongly in her first basketball game since winning the premiership with Adelaide.

The Crows superstar led Dallas Wings with a team-high four assists in their 87-81 WNBA practice match loss to San Antonio Stars in Texas on the weekend.

Starting at guard, the veteran Australian Opal scored all six of her points from the free throw line, but struggled in shooting none-from-six from the field.

It was a typically spirited performance from Phillips having switched back to the sport after being crowned an inaugural AFLW premiership player in March.

She left Adelaide soon after winning a string of accolades, including All Australian honours and club champion, to join the Wings for pre-season training.
