Essendon rookie Gach Nyuon has been arrested and released without charge in Melbourne following a fight with an Uber driver.

The 19-year-old was detained on Saturday night for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, the club confirmed in a statement on Sunday.

The teen was released without charge on Sunday morning and has been spoken to by the club.

Club management will now talk with the team's leadership group to determine if further action if needed.
