European leaders react to Austria's presidential election

Germany has been among the first to welcome the election of Alexander Van der Bellen as Austrias next president.

The pro-European candidate defeated Norbert Hofer, who campaigned for the far right Freedom Party on an anti-immigration, anti-European Union platform.

Reporting from Vienna, Austria, Kerry Skyring told Kristina Kukolja the outcome doesn't symbolise a reversal of populist sentiment in Europe, but it is being seen by some as a sign of hope that pro-European Union candidates can win elections.
