European stocks nudge higher at open

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index has edged up 0.09 per cent to 6,548.39 points in opening Friday trade.

Europe's main stock markets have eked out gains at the start of trading on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index edging up 0.09 per cent to 6,548.39 points.

The CAC 40 in Paris has gained 0.08 per cent to 4,331.3 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.05 per cent to 9,300.66 compared with Thursday's closing values.
