European stocks steady at open

Europe's main stock markets have steadied at the open.

Europe's main stock markets have steadied at the open, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.08 per cent to 6, 687.18 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 on Wednesday edged up 0.02 per cent to 9,602.12 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dipped 0.09 per cent to stand at 4,480.17 compared with the previous day's close.
