Everest climber's body on way home

The body of a Melbourne woman who died on Mount Everest will return to Australia late on Tuesday, according to her family.

Family members of Mount Everest climber Marisa Strydom say her body will arrive home soon.

The 34-year-old Melbourne university lecturer died of altitude sickness on the way back down the mountain in her husband's arms on May 20.

Dr Strydom's sister Aletta Newman told AAP that her body is expected to arrive in Melbourne late on Tuesday.
