Ex-AFL player Carrazzo quits umpiring

Former Carlton player Andrew Carrazzo has quit the AFL's umpiring program because of persistent calf injuries.

Carrazzo, who played 194 games for the Blues, had been seeking to join the elite umpiring ranks.

But four calf injuries this season prompted the 32-year-old to retire, AFL umpires coach Hayden Kennedy said in a statement on Thursday.
