Residents of Western Australia's Interior district have been warned of heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and flooding as the remnants of ex-cyclone Stan disperse.
Stan was downgraded to a tropical low on Sunday afternoon after it crossed the WA coast as a category two system earlier in the day, with wind gusts of over 100km/h.
The all clear was given for large parts of the Pilbara on Sunday, but flood warnings remained in place for some river catchments and coastal rivers, while a flood watch was issued for the Interior.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) overnight warned residents to shelter and prepare for damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall and possible flooding in parts of the Pilbara, Midwest Gascoyne and Goldfields Midlands regions.
"This is unusual weather that could cause damage to homes and make travel dangerous," it said.
