Ex-German goalkeeper Wiese debuts in WWE

Tim Wiese, a member of Germany's 2010 World Cup squad, is off to a flying start in his WWE career, figuring in a six-man tag-team win in Munich.

Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese made a winning start to his wrestling career on Thursday, triumphing in Munich's Olympiahalle with teammates Cesaro and Sheamus in a six-man tag-team bout.

The 34-year-old Wiese, now known as 'The Machine', secured the winning pin to defeat the team made up of the Shining Stars and Bo Dallas.

Wiese won six caps for Germany between 2008 and 2012, was a member of Germany's 2010 World Cup squad and has made more than 200 appearances in the Bundesliga.

But after being frozen out at his last club Hoffenheim, Wiese made the transition to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) group having gained 30kg in weight and muscle power.
