Parramatta's disastrous NRL season has hit yet another low after renegade star Semi Radradra was alleged to have assaulted his former partner numerous times over an eight-month period.
As the Eels continue to wait on the return of the two-time Dally M winner from his club-sanctioned trip to Fiji, the club was rocked by news his ex-partner, Perina Ting, gave a statement to police on Tuesday.
She is believed to have formally applied for an apprehended violence order against Radradra.
"A 26-year-old woman attended Rosehill Police Station and reported that her partner, a 24-year-old man, assaulted her on a number of occasions between September 2014 and April 2015 at their home in Parramatta," NSW police said in a statement.
The club said it was aiding Radradra and his family, through their welfare department, and was working with authorities.
It has referred the matter to the NRL integrity unit but made no indication as to whether Radradra would be stood down or not.
The latest revelations come after the 24-year-old Radradra was a surprise no-show at Parramatta training on Wednesday and was instead granted yet another extension on his Fiji trip to deal with personal issues.
The Kangaroos representative was expected to re-unite with his teammates following the team's bye last Sunday, and his continued absence gives further credence to a rumoured walkout to French rugby.
But his manager George Christodoulos guaranteed his client would not only be back to take on Cronulla on Saturday, but that Radradra would also serve out the remainder of his current contract.
Radradra's Eels deal finishes at the end of the 2017 season.
"Semi remains committed to the Eels for the remainder of his current contract expiring in 2017 and will not be going to French rugby or anywhere else whilst under contract," he told News Corp.
Coach Brad Arthur addressed the Radradra situation to the playing group ahead of training on Wednesday.
Before news of the domestic violence allegations emerged mid Wednesday morning Eels players insisted they are happy for their troubled teammate to walk straight back into the line-up to take on the Sharks despite missing at least their first two training sessions of the week.
"We thought he'd be here, but we've been told by Brad this morning that he'll be back. That's all that matters," prop Danny Wicks said.
"I think he's in the best three players in the world at the moment so if he wants to turn up and throw the boots on and walk out, I'm happy with that."
