The Doctor of Laws will be presented to Mr Fraser on Thursday night, the eve of his 80th birthday.
The honorary degree recognises Mr Fraser's contribution to public life, his passion for global human rights and his long-term engagement with South Africa, a statement from the university said.

Mr Fraser also has an honorary doctorate from Murdoch University in Perth for his commitment to human rights.
