Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced it has charged former international Alviro Petersen for several breaches of its anti-corruption code.
The charges, which follow an ongoing investigation by CSA's anti-corruption unit, include "Seeking to accept, accepting or agreeing to accept a bribe or reward to fix or contrive to fix or influence improperly a match or matches in the 2015 RAM SLAM T20 Challenge Series.
Petersen also faces a count of contriving to fix or otherwise improperly influence matches during the T20 series, and obstructing or delaying the inquiry by concealing, tampering with or destroying information or documentation relevant to the investigation.
The 35-year-old South African batsman, who played for Lancashire last season, has been provisionally suspended and has 14 days to respond to the charges.
Gulam Bodi, Jean Symes, Pumelela Matshikwe, Ethy Mbhalati and Thami Tsolekile were all handed lengthy bans by CSA earlier this year for their part in attempting to fix matches in the Ram Slam.
