A former stripper has appeared via video link from Victoria's maximum security women's prison charged with murdering her fiance, who disappeared 11 years ago.

Robyn Lindholm, 43, was this week charged with the murder of George Templeton, 38, who disappeared from the Reservoir home they shared with his teenage son on May 2, 2005.

He was not seen again.

Police allege Lindholm murdered Templeton between May 2 and May 3, 2005.

Lindholm's defence lawyer asked Magistrate Luisa Bazzani to not release Lindholm's current address to the media.

Ms Bazzani replied the address was known to everyone because the accused was in the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.

"There's no need to delete the address," she said.

Lindholm will return to court in September.
