An explosion has sunk a pro-Palestinian protest vessel before it could make a bid to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Activists on the 'Gaza Ark' program had been hoping to take Palestinian exports out of the Strip.

Spokesman for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, David Heap says the boat does not pose a threat to anyone and he cannot understand why it was targetted.
