Several news organisations in Croatia are reporting that Mr Snedden, who is being held in extradition detention in Sydney, is expected to land in the Croatian capital Zagreb on Thursday.

He will reportedly appear in court in the southern port city of Split the same day.

The 60-year-old is wanted by Croatia over alleged war crimes dating back to the 1990s war in Croatia.

He's been fighting extradition in the Australian courts since Croatia requested that he be extradited in 2005.

Also known as Captain Dragan, Mr Snedden, who holds dual Australian-Serbian citizenship, will be the first Australian citizen to be extradited overseas in connection with alleged war crimes.

Snedden's lawyer in Australia, Dan Mori, said he has not received any confirmation of Snedden's extradition for a Thursday court date.
