Dante Exum appears on the outer at Utah, with his NBA court time plummeting in a worrying sign for the Australian's career.

Exum was not called on by Jazz coach Quin Snyder in Monday's (Tuesday AEDT) 112-103 away win over Minnesota.

In Utah's previous two games, the point guard spent all but 13 minutes on the bench and failed to score a point following the return of star George Hill from injury.

Hill had 24 points on Monday, while teammates Rudy Gobert (16 points and 17 rebounds) and Gordon Hayward (24 points) also starred as the Jazz recorded their third-straight win.

Exum, the 2014 No.5 draft pick, had gradually increased his minutes this season after returning from more than a year out with a knee injury.

He had averaged 27.75 minutes per game while Hill was on the sidelines, starting six of eight outings and averaging 9.5 points.

He scored a season-best 14 points against Chicago two weeks ago.

But since Hill's return, the Jazz have preferred Shelvin Mack at back-up point guard, forcing Exum down the pecking order.

Exum has played 17 games since making his comeback at the start of the 2016-17 NBA season after rupturing his ACL playing for the Boomers in August last year.
