F1 set for 2019 debuts in Miami and Hanoi

Two new cities - one each in the US and Asia - are set to host races on the Formula One calandar in 2019.

Formula One is likely to have new races in Miami and the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi next year, influential German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport said.

F1 has yet to confirm the new destinations but Auto Motor Sport said the Miami and Hanoi races would be on street tracks.

The US already has one race in Austin, Texas.

The magazine also reported that Buenos Aires was in the running to return to the F1 for the first time since 1998.

This season there will be 21 F1 grands prix and although teams and drivers have baulked at the idea of more races per season, F1 bosses are mulling extending the calendar.

Ross Brawn, F1's managing director of motorsports, gave an interview to the magazine about a more cost-effective but exciting future without discussing new races.

"We could have a fascinating sport with highly complex cars for less than half the money spent today at the very top. And nobody would notice," he said.

"Perfection and predictability kill any entertainment. And that's what the sport is suffering from today."
