The Vietnam government says Facebook has committed to work with it to remove content that violates the country's laws.
Communist Vietnam complained in February about "toxic" anti-government and offensive content on Facebook and YouTube.
The government pressured local companies to withdraw advertising until the social media firms found a solution.
Vietnamese information and communication minister Truong Minh Tuan said on Wednesday that Facebook will remove fake accounts and fake content about senior government officials.
Vietnam's government has been criticised by human rights groups and western countries for arresting anti-government bloggers.

The move comes after Facebook faced an unrelated challenge this week in nearby Thailand, where a man broadcast himself killing his 11-month-old daughter in a live video that stayed on the platform for 24 hours before being removed.
