Former Guantanamo Bay guard Brandon Neely used Facebook to track down two former detainees to apologise for his actions.
US soldier Brandon Neely was assigned to Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay eight years ago, aged 22. Neely recalls awaiting the first detainees for high security detention camp run by the United States, having been told the occupants were considered some of the most dangerous men in the world.
Neely met two young British detainees during his six months stint at the camp, Shafiq Rasul and Ruhal Ahmed who were detained for two and a half years under suspicion of links to the Taliban.

Rasul and Ahmed had been captured in Afghanistan and both claim they were tortured during their detention.
After leaving the military in 2005, Neely said he became convinced that some of the inmates being held in Guantanamo Bay were innocent. In 2008 he decided to use Facebook to search for the former detainees.
Rasul and Ahmed were contacted by Neely, who sent messages to express his personal remorse for his involvement in the camps and to apologise for his actions.
The three men were reunited eight years on by the BBC in London.
