* Chris Evans: Retains his seniority as government leader in the Senate, but plays second fiddle to Greg Combet as tertiary education, skills, science and research minister. Stays in cabinet.
* Robert McClelland: Dumped as attorney-general to become emergency management and housing minister. Stays in cabinet.
