- Graduated from Sydney's Heathcote High School in 1971.
- Works as a clerk in NSW Crown Solicitor's office while studying at night with NSW Barristers Admissions Board.
- Aged 18, took a three-week bus trip with a friend around Australia which included staying in Adelaide Hills. She
told her friend she'd return to live there one day.
- In 1978 moved to Adelaide Hills with husband Jim (they're now separated) and set up a legal firm.
- Elected to parliament in 2002.
- Elected Liberal leader in July 2009.
- Will become first Liberal premier in SA since Rob Kerin was defeated at 2002 election if she wins the 2010 poll.
